Historical Context / Background .

Jeffrey Dahmer was born on the 21st of May 1960 in Milwaukee, Winsconsin, and he was known as an American serial killer and sex offender. He murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 to 1991 with the majority between 1987 and 1991. His murders involved gruesome acts of, rape, torture, dismemberment, necrophilia and cannibalism. On the 28th of November 1994, he was killed by his inmate Christopher Scarver by getting continuously hit by a bar from the weight machines.

Jeffrey Dahmer was born and diagnosed with a double hernia. After much examination, it was said that this would affect his personality for eternity. Jeffrey was a normal kid until the age of six, where he underwent a hernia surgery and that was when he began to change, unusually. He was a loud and out-going kid, but his personality had changed and turned him into a loner who did not talk and always had a blank face instead of a child's smile.

Dahmer had moved to Bath, Ohia, in 1966 when he was 8. While other kids were playing with toy cars and dolls, Dahmer was down in the woods mutilating animals and road kill. At the age of 13, Dahmer was questioning his homosexuality and had a sexual encounter with a boy a year later and at the age of 16, he had unusual fantasies of murdering people and having sex with the dead body. When Dahmer was 18, his parents had divorced which left Dahmer living with his grandmother due to his father continiously travelling. During high school, Dahmer had developed bad drinking habits which carried on to university where he would skip classes and go drinking. As this behavious continued, Dahmer had gotten discharged from the Army.
